15: DIVERSITY LUNCHEON: LATINOS AND PLANNING
The Virginia
Chapter of the American Planning Association (VAPA) and the Student
Planners Association (SPA) are co-sponsoring this event during
which Irayda Ruiz of Virginia Commonwealth University will be
sharing the results of this Fall’s regional and national
Dialogos on Latinos and Planning. “This is a real grassroots
event trying to include diversity in urban planning.” The
lunch will be held on Wednesday, November 15 from 12:30 to 1:30pm.

16 & 17: CENTRAL VIRGINIA LATINO HEALTH SUMMIT
The Inaugural
Central Virginia Latino Health Summit: Latino Cultures & Beliefs
in Health Care will provide the knowledge and skills needed to
address the health care needs of the Latino populations in the
Central Virginia Region: Hands on skill-building, tools for providers
and support staff, networking opportunities, learn from local
and national experts in the delivery of culturally-relevant health
care services to Latino populations. Health providers, community
leaders and individuals involved in the provision of health services
to the Latino population in Central Virginia are encouraged to
attend. Sponsor: VCU Center on Health Disparities and the VCU
School of World Studies; Dates/Times: November 16, 2006, 5 –
9 pm; November 17, 2006, 8 am – 4 pm; Location: Greater

NOVEMBER 17: LECTURE IN SPANISH ON AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL PEOPLE
The Kluge-Ruhe
Collection will hold a lecture in Spanish on Australian Aboriginal
people from the central desert and their art, Friday, Nov 17 at
7:00 pm. The speaker is Sra. Paz Domeyko. Reservations are required

art gallery at 400 Worrell Drive, Peter Jefferson Place, Charlottesville.
