APRIL 2007: SIXTH ANNUAL WOMEN & GIRLS WELLNESS MONTH
IN VIRGINIA: LET’S REACH OUT TO LATINAS
Women’s
Health Virginia (WHV) urges all health care providers and educators
and other organizations that are addressing the needs of women
and girls to participate in the sixth annual Women & Girls'
Wellness Month to be celebrated in April. We are hoping service
providers and others working with Latinas will organize an event
for members, staff or Clients to help improve awareness about
and health services to the Latina community by highlighting their
wellness issues and ways they can maintain their health and have
full, active lives. "Wellness" is a broad concept and
there are always a wide variety of events, including special health
services and information programs, athletic events and exhibitions,
cultural and social events. WHV will be happy to support your
events by: publicizing them on its web site, in the media, and
with people to whom we regularly send information; providing your
agency with a poster to publicize your participation and to call
attention to your event; by offering suggestions about activities
if you need some ideas. To advise us of your celebration, visit
www.womenshealthvirginia.org/forms/feedback.html
For suggestions about organizing a celebration, to be added to
our mailing list, or for more information about WHV or Women &
Girls' Wellness Month, contact whvnet@womenshealthvirginia.org
