CRECIENDO JUNTOS – GROWING TOGETHER

Neighborhood Services

To date, two Latino enclaves, the Blue Ridge Commons area and Southwood, have benefited from the attention of service providers. While this is positive, Creciendo Juntos (CJ) hopes service providers will increase their services to other areas where Latinos reside.

BLUE RIDGE COMMONS

The Blue Ridge Commons and other apartments on Prospect are served by Abundant Life Ministries which provide Latino children with ESOL and tutoring programs and assist their parents in communications with local schools. The bilingual caseworker Claire Moore can be reached at 434/242-3819 or Claire@charlottevilleabundantlife.org The Abundant Life Ministries web site is located at http://www.charlottesvilleabundantlife.org

SOUTHWOOD

The large trailer park off 5th Street Extd, owned by Habitat for Humanity, is the recipient of many services focused on serving its residents who are predominately Latino. For a list of ongoing and past initiatives click here.
