Agenda
- Help Fair
- It was decided not to schedule the fair in coordination
with the visit from the Mexican Consulate because their date
continues to be tentative.
- The Health Fair is set for Sunday, October 21st at the
Church of Incarnation from 2:30-5:00pm.
- Agencies need to sign up for spots.
- Interested vendors should contact Bernice Ramirez at
Bernice@virginia.edu.
- Last year’s list of vendors was a good mix. However,
Jon suggested it might be good to prioritize if more vendors
express interest in the fair.
- Rhonda pointed out the need for an employment vendor last
year.
- Marie Murray suggested contacting Job Corps: she will
be emailing a bilingual representative.
- Nila pointed another gap in children’s dental care.
- Vendor Cards were a good idea, are going to be distributed
again at this fair.
- Jon Nafziger suggested inviting the governor’s representative
so that attendees can give the elected official feedback.
- Bernice Ramirez offered to contact UVA students who could
serve as translators and help with food pickup.
- Rhonda addressed the issue of providing healthy food at
the health fair.
- Rice and beans, chips and salsa, and fruits/vegetables
platters will replace fried foods previously offered at
the fairs.
