CRECIENDO JUNTOS – GROWING TOGETHER

Creciendo Juntos Initiatives

Photos: Help Fair (October 2006)

Every month, Creciendo Juntos – Growing Together (CJ) organizes a plenary session open to the public. The plenaries are typically 90 minutes long, include a speaker and related question and answer or discussion period, and end with announcements. The plenaries are an important communication and training tool, providing useful information about the Latino community and the issues they confront and about programs, events, policy, and resources related to it. The CJ plenaries also provide service providers an opportunity to learn about and network with one another, and to share resources. Overviews of past plenaries can be found at: http://www.cj-network.org/sessions.html

CJ also organizes working groups, again, open to the public, that develop initiatives to respond to specific issues. One, the Orientation Group, also responds to CJ membership issues. Many of these groups operate a web page containing summaries of meetings and events and/or valuable resources. Information on CJ working groups, past and present, and access to their web pages, are available at: http://www.cj-network.org/work_groups.html

The CJ web site is a bilingual clearinghouse of information and resources. Its purpose is to increase awareness among service providers about the local Latino population, and to share resources, facilitate networking, and in other ways enhance the capacity of service providers to respond to our ever increasing Spanish language residents. For more information about what the CJ website is, what it does, who uses it, and what needs it has, visit:
