Bilingual Therapist Group

The Charlottesville-Albemarle Area Bilingual Mental Health Therapists Group, was created as an effort to develop a space where bilingual mental health professionals in our area have the opportunity to share their experiences and understanding of the challenges that people face within the Spanish speaking community regarding mental health.

This group represents a breakthrough in efforts to meet the service needs of the Hispanic community in this area; nowadays there is a variety range of available resources for this population which is continuously expanding.

The first meeting was held at The Women's Initiative on 03/28/2017 and after that, the group agreed to meet quarterly to discuss opportunities, resources and ways on how to better support us as clinicians in better serve our clients and families.

if you are a bilingual therapist and are interested in learning more, please reach out to Ulises Martinez at: umartinez@thewomensinitiative.org
