Challenge into Change is a writing contest celebrating women's stories of growth and healing. The Women's Initiative invites you to submit a piece of writing of 500 words or less about a woman (yourself or someone you know) who overcame a difficult situation in her life. Both prose and poetry are welcome. First-time writers are encouraged to enter!
Winners will receive cash awards; all entrants will have the chance to be published in our Challenge into Change book and will be honored at a ceremony at the 2019 Virginia Festival of the Book in Charlottesville.
Submission deadline is December 12, 2018.

De la Adversidad al Éxito es un concurso de escritura celebrando las historias de la vida real sobre las mujeres que han superado desafíos personales para hallar crecimiento y sanación. La Iniciativa de La Mujer te invita a presentar un escrito de 500 palabras o menos acerca de una mujer (tú o alguien que conozcas) que haya vencido una situación difícil en la vida. Tanto la prosa y la poesía son bienvenidas.
Historias en español también participan.
Los ganadores recibirán premios en efectivo; todas las historias participantes tendrán la oportunidad de ser publicadas en nuestro libro “De la Adversidad al Éxito”, además de ser honradas en una ceremonia durante el Virginia Festival of del Libro 2019 que se llevará a cabo en Charlottesville.
