In partnership with the Director of Prevention and the Prevention Educator, the Prevention Training Specialist is responsible for organizing and administering a range of prevention programs at SARA. This person will primarily work on developing events and on-going groups for parents, to help them grow in their ability to share positive prevention messages with their adolescent children, related to healthy sexuality and contributing to a positive community. Other projects include: promoting primary prevention in schools and community institutions, Green Dot Bystander programs at the high school level, classroom education and small educational groups. Desired skills include program development, long-term planning, training and teaching skills, ability to connect with both adult and adolescent learners, community networking and mobilization, marketing to target audiences, adaptability, and cultural competency.
Bilingual preferred.
